| Nadia Adame studied Ballet & Flamenco at the Royal Dance Conservatory of Madrid and holds degrees in Theatre and Spanish Language & Literature from the University of Colorado. She is the Co-Artistic Director of Compañía y and has worked with CandoCo (UK), Axis Dance Company (USA), Patas Arriba (Spain), Dandelion Dance Theatre (USA) and danced pieces by Stephen Petronio, Bill T. Jones, Sonya Delwaide, Chevi Muraday and Eric Kupers. Nadia is an actress, teacher, and award winning dancer & choreographer. |
| Alba Fernández Alba started to study contemporary dance at the Real Coservatorio Profesional de Danza in Madrid (Spain). During that period she was influenced by artist such as Pedro Berdayes, Gloria Garcia, Jose Reches and Christine Tanguay. She has also studied with David Zambrano, Frey Faust, Guillermo Weickert and Rasmus Olme, absorbing all their influences. Alba has collaborated on several dance pieces; among the most important ones are those she worked on with the company directed by Gustavo de Ceglie. Alba received the Audience Award at the Certamen Coreográfico in Madrid in 2005. She is currently studying at the Laban Center in London with a scholarship from the Spanish Ministry of Culture. Alba started collaborating with Compañía y in 2007. |
| Eric Kupers is the co-founder and Dandelion Dancetheatre in San Francisco. Eric has danced with Sideshow Physical Theatre/Della Davidson, Joe Goode and has also been the assistant director for Margaret Jenkins Dance Company. As a choreographer Eric has worked in dance, theatre, opera and film as well as presented his works around the United States, Scotland and India. Besides currently working as a dancer and choreographer, he is also a professor at the California State University at Hayward. |
| Nahuel Losada was born in Madrid and raised there and in Buenos Aires. He studied dramatic art in London (at ALRA & RADA) and New York (at the Lee Starsberg Theater Institute). After interning at indie film production company Goldheart Pictures and VH1, he was hired by MTV International as a programmer and producer of multi-platform contents for over 28 different markets. Nahuel currently lives in Madrid, where he collaborates with Compañía y , fronts the pop band Aftermeth, and has recently directed the short film High Risk. |
| Alisa Rasera has been working in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1996 where she has collaborated with numerous companies and choreographers including Paufve Dance, Nina Haft & Dancers, Dana Lawton, Jessica Adams, Cid Pearlman, Lisa Townsend, and most extensively with AXIS Dance Company. During her time with AXIS, she toured nationally in the US, performing the works of Sonya Delwaide, Ann Carlson, Nadia Adame, Victoria Marks , Stephen Petronio and Bill T. Jones. Alisa was also AXIS’s Education Director and works in various educational settings. Her choreography has been seen on several stages in the Bay Area. |
| Jose Luis Sendarrubias received his BA in physical theatre at the Real Escuela de Arte Dramático (RESAD) in Madrid. He has studied performance with José Pedro Carrión, mime with the master Marcel Marceau and at the L´Ange Fou school in London. In classical and contemporary dance he studied with Gustavo de Ceglie, Jose Reches, Wendel Wells and Nicolas Rambaud among others. Jose Luis started collaborating with Compañía y in 2007. |
| Mark Swetz is one of the co-founders and co-directors of Compañía y. He is most interested in the development of new works, in any presentable, performable form & the creation of opportunities for emerging artists. Mark's goal for the next few years is to create a laboratory for artists to create, share & explore their work. |
